Direction issued by the Commission The Commission has received a complaint from Dr. Lenin regarding alleged gang rape and murder of a 14 year girl in the premises of Nighasan police station in Lakhimpur district in Uttar Pradesh. Upon perusal of the record, it is seen that the Commission has already taken suo-motu cognizance of the incident on the basis of media report in case No.21828/24/46/2011-wc. The Commission vide proceedings dated 13.06.11 has issued notice to the Chief Secretary and DGP, Uttar Pradesh, calling for a detailed report in the matter within two weeks. DG (I) has also been requested to send a team immediately for an on the spot enquiry and submit report. Since the Commission has already taken cognizance of the matter, no separate action is required on this complaint. This case be lined with case No.21828/24/46/2011-wc.
